Although I am experienced on both sides of the table, and on the bench, criminal defense work is the most rewarding.

 

I was appointed Presiding Judge for the City of McKinney from 2019-2024, and am a former prosecutor with experience trying all types of felony and misdemeanor cases including DWI, theft, assault, child crimes, fraud, murder, sexual assault, burglary, robbery, and organized crime. I was assigned Second Assistant District Attorney & Chief of Misdemeanor Trial Division. I trained numerous prosecutors, staff, and police on courtroom procedure and testimony. Prior to my time as Second Assistant, I was the Chief Felony Prosecutor for the Special Prosecution Division, responsible for prosecution of financially motivated criminal activity, organized crime, and public integrity matters.  I was trained in cyber crime and computer forensics at the National Institute for Computer Forensics (NCFI), the Secret Services' training facility, in Hoover Alabama.  Other assignments included the Crimes Against Children Division, Felony Trial Team, and Drug Court.
